The Importance of Numeracy in Financial Planning

This programme taster lecture will explore the intrinsic value of numeracy to financial planning practitioners; the potential consequences arising as a result of a reliance upon heuristics in lieu of proper modelling; and the limitations of financial calculations to financial planning.

This is a taster event for the Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.

The Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, awarded by University College Dublin (UCD), is a highly regarded postgraduate qualification (level 9), designed for those working in, or who would like to develop a career in, financial planning and wealth management. It is designed for those who wish to develop their financial planning knowledge and skills to the highest international standards.

The programme is specifically designed to provide financial planners with the knowledge and understanding of the applicable regulatory requirements, the mechanisms and purpose of the main investment products and the ability to satisfy their individual clients’ financial planning and investment portfolio needs.

The event will be held over Zoom. Please ensure you have access to Zoom in advance of the event taking place. Zoom is available on all PCs, laptops, tablets and Apple or Android devices. The link to join the event will be emailed to registered members on the day of the event.

The registration for the event will close once we reach capacity or at 2pm the day before the event.
