Andrew McLaughlin – Chief Executive Officer Dr Andrew McLaughlin was appointed as the CEO of RBS International in July 2015. The bank specialises in multi-currency cash management, lending, risk management and depository services to the investment trust and alternative investor sectors on-shore and off-shore in Europe and retailing and commercial banking services in offshore several locations.

Andrew holds a first class honours degree in Economics and Politics. His 1993 doctoral thesis won the prestigious Walter Bagehot prize for best UK dissertation. Andrew spent several years working in academia before beginning his commercial career. He published a book on the automobile industry in 1998. He is a professionally qualified Bank Director and a professionally qualified Fund Investment Director.

Andrew has held a number of advisory and non executive positions during his career including 5 years as Chairman of the Prince's Trust Scotland and member of the UK Board, two terms on the CBI economics and tax committee, a council member Universities of Oxford business economics programme and visiting professor at the University of Nottingham Centre for global studies. He has undertaken a number of public sector assignments including membership of a fiscal panel for 5 years and more recently leading a strategic study on work-force planning. During his economics career Andrew was previously a regular commentator in UK print and broadcast media and newspaper columnist.
