Catriona Coady will reflect on current client issues and the actions being taken on behalf of those clients in response to the COVID 19 crisis, including holding too much surplus cash in a corporate structure or personally, concentration risk, considerations in relation to pension and protection arrangements and wealth strategies with succession planning in mind.

Kevin McConnell

CFA, CEO GEM Strategic

Kevin, a Chartered Financial Analyst, is an external specialist consultant in the banking and investment sectors with over 25 years of experience in financial markets. Working with banks, regulators and investors in Credit, Capital, Stress Testing and Strategy, Kevin has experience in over a dozen regulatory jurisdictions across Europe, US and Emerging markets.

He has worked through a range of mid-tier to top tier M&A transactions providing stress testing/due diligence consultancy, and transaction advisory. He was a member of Committee on Collective Investment Governance (CCIG) of Central Bank of Ireland (2014) which supported the development of CP86.

He is currently a member of the Advisory Committee of the Certified Investment Fund Director Institute. He developed and delivers the post graduate programs in Alternative Assets at IOB (UCD), in Wealth Management in the Masters in Finance at Trinity College Dublin, and on the Certified Bank Director program in Ireland and UK.

Kevin is also deputy chair of the Irish platform one of the largest CLO originators in Europe and is chief executive of GEM Strategic, a specialist consultancy firm.

Head of Retirement Planning at AIB Private Banking

Jim Connolly is Head of Retirement Planning at AIB Private Banking having previously held the position of Head of Pensions at Goodbody and Standard Life. He was appointed as a Pensioner Trustee by Revenue in 2004 and now lectures in Retirement Planning for the Institute and UCD. He specialises in exit strategies for high and ultra high net worth individuals – he just wishes he was one himself.

Chief Executive of IOB

Mary joined IOB in April 2018 from the Central Bank of Ireland where she was Director of Securities and Markets Supervision. She was previously Ireland's representative at the World Bank and prior to that held the role of Alternate Executive Director representing Ireland with the International Monetary Fund. Mary previously held several director roles with the Central Bank of Ireland, including Director of Financial Operations, Consumer Director and Acting Chief Executive of the Financial Regulator.

Senior Equity Analyst, Davy

Marie Gillespie is a Senior Equity Analyst at Davy and has 20 years industry experience as both an Equity Analyst and Equity Portfolio Manager.

She graduated from the Queens University in Belfast with degree in Maths and a Masters in Finance, and holds the Certificate in Sustainable Investment Finance (CSIF) qualification. Marie is also a mentor in the CFA challenge programme.

Head of Tax Wealth Management, Goodbody

Catriona Coady is a Head of Tax Wealth Management with Goodbody and is responsible for assisting clients in developing and implementing their strategic tax and investment goals. She is adept in advising on tax and investment solutions covering estate and succession planning, investment, pension and retirement planning. Prior to working for Goodbody, she spent over 20 years working with big 4 firms providing tax advice to international and domestic clients. She is a CTA, TEP and CFP.
