Whether we like it or not, being online is part of life, and none so much perhaps as for our teenagers. This online event with CyberSafe Kids aims to raise awareness of what young people are doing online, and the associated risks and safeguards. We provide information and guidance on platforms teenagers are using, digital literacy and wellbeing, and the inherent risks of being online: oversharing and privacy and digital footprint.
There is 1 CPD hour for the following designations:
Certified Data Protection Officer - CDPO
Originally from Sligo Town, Michael has been based in Donegal for many years working for An Garda Síochána in the area of child protection. Michael was the key liaison officer between Tusla and An Garda Siochana and was responsible for the coordination of investigations relating to child protection and safeguarding.
Michael has a particular interest in educating and advising adults and children on how to stay safe online. He holds a Masters in Computer Forensics and Cyber Crime Investigations, and describes himself as a ‘cybersecurity enthusiast’
