This masterclass from the Executive Education 2020/21 Masterclass series is designed with busy executives in mind, offering them the opportunity to be immersed in the specialised topic of interest during a short and practically focused session.
The masterclass will consider the following concepts amongst others:
1. Toolkit – methods to use to plan for the future:
What are they
Who’s used them
How they’ve worked
This includes scenario planning, which is static (and includes identifying drivers, prioritising objectives and deciding on actions).
2. Creating a network of entrepreneurial thinkers to come up with ideas on how to get from where we are to where we want to be – this is the move from static to dynamic.
3. Reporting appropriately on what’s going on – e.g. investor reports, annual report All of the above should then build a culture that fosters thinking about the future.

The event will be held over Zoom. Please ensure you have access to Zoom in advance of the event taking place. Zoom is available on all PCs, laptops, tablets and Apple or Android devices.
The link to join the event will be emailed to registered members on the day of the event. The registration for the event will close once we reach capacity or at 12pm the day before the event.

Chief Executive Global Futures and Foresight
David Smith is the Chief Executive and a Futurist at Global Futures and Foresight, a futures research firm, based in London, which he has led for the past 13 years.
He has over 35 years of sales, marketing, leadership and strategy experience, in global IT and IT services firms and was responsible for the strategy of a $2bn global financial services business.
He is a regular keynote speaker at Business Schools and industry events, addressing over 40 conferences a year in person or virtually and publishes a number of forward-looking papers each year. His latest is ‘What’s Hot in tech 2021’.
He has helped many of the world’s largest organisations understand what the future will likely have in store for them and its consequence and how to be better prepared to renew and thrive.
