Ellen is an independent director with over 30 years of experience across markets, cultures and regulatory environments, with a particular focus on alternative investments and impact investing.  Ms. Lederman’s international career includes:  CFO for a private equity fund group (Zurich – Akina Limited); impact investing (Shorebank International and International Finance Corporation); investment banking (J.P. Morgan in Prague and London and Drexel Burnham Lambert in New York); and, lecturing MBA students in Finance and Economics. 

Ellen currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of Octopus Alternative Investment Fund Management Limited and chairs the Audit and Risk Committee.  She is approved by the Financial Conduct Authority of the UK.

Ellen graduated Summa Cum Laude in Economics from Cornell University and holds masters degrees from M.I.T. Sloan School of Management and Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.  She has continued her professional development with programs at the American Bankers’ Association, Board Apprentice, the CIFDI and CAIA. Ms. Lederman holds dual UK/USA citizenship and is a resident of Switzerland (C Permit).
