Robert Smith is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of a corporate board and a non-profit board. Prior to June, 2020, Mr. Smith was a Senior Advisor at Greenhill & Co., a global investment banking firm headquartered in New York City. Mr. Smith joined Greenhill in 2006 and was responsible for providing financial advisory services to the asset management and market structure sectors globally.
Prior to Greenhill, Mr. Smith spent 26 years at Salomon Brothers, Salomon Smith Barney and Citigroup with his last positions as Co-Head of Financial Institutions Mergers and Acquisitions and Co-Head of the Global Asset Manager Advisory Group. As a result of his work with asset managers, particularly for mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Smith is intimately familiar with all aspects of the business of asset managers. Recent client assignments include work with retail, institutional and alternative managers.
