This Programme Taster event is designed for professionals working in financial services who have responsibilities in areas such as Operational risk management, Banking risk management and those responsible for AI deployment or managing AI teams.
This event will provide participants with a practical introduction to how advanced risk management frameworks, AI technologies, and ethical oversight intersect to protect vulnerable customers—particularly older individuals—from financial abuse. Drawing on themes from IOB’s benchmark programmes in Operational Risk, Banking Risk, and AI Management, the session will explore how AI is reshaping risk detection in financial institutions, the strategic role of risk professionals in aligning AI with regulatory and ethical standards, and the broader operational and compliance challenges faced by senior professionals across banking, regulatory, and advisory sectors.
By attending, participants will gain valuable insights into the real-world application of AI in risk management, with a specific focus on preventing financial abuse of older and vulnerable customers. They’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how AI can be used responsibly and ethically within financial services, how to identify emerging risks, and how to strengthen operational risk frameworks. The session also offers a unique opportunity to preview the content and career impact of IOB’s advanced programmes—equipping attendees to make informed decisions about further study and professional development in this critical and evolving area.
