Join IOB, together with Block W, for this relevant and topical conversation on the EU AI Act and its implications for financial services.

Noelle Doody (Managing Director in Accenture Ireland’s Data and AI practice) and Brian Connolly (Director for Responsible AI, Regulatory and Compliance Europe Lead, Accenture), will give attendees a brief introduction to the EU AI Act - including the risk-based assessment approach. They will discuss the different dimensions to be considered (e.g. explainability) and will also focus on how we are seeing organisations practically implement Responsible AI frameworks.

This will include discussing some real-world examples of specific challenges and ideas on how to overcome them. Professor Joyce O’Connor, co-founder of Block W, will moderate questions from the audience.

Noelle Doody

Managing Director in Accenture Ireland’s Data and AI practice

Noelle Doody is a Managing Director in Accenture Ireland’s Data and AI practice. Noelle leads Data and AI projects across various industries, with a particular focus on utilities and consumer goods and services.

Noelle implements multiple applications of AI including Generative AI, customer analytics, operational analytics, optimisation, forecasting and financial modelling. She holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering and a MSc. in Business Analytics both from UCD, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainability in Enterprise from University College Cork.

Noelle has held a variety of roles both in Consulting and Industry, and is an industry board member of CeADAR (Ireland’s Centre for AI).

Brian Connolly

Director for Responsible AI, Regulatory and Compliance Europe Lead, Accenture

As Accenture's Director for Responsible AI, Regulatory and Compliance Europe Lead, Brian works with Accenture, its clients, and other stakeholders to help develop and implement Artificial Intelligence in a way that creates value, builds trust, helps compliance, and protects organisations and people. His areas of focus are regulatory and compliance aspects of technology, including Responsible AI, GDPR, digital and data.

In doing this, Brian also brings the experience he has gained throughout his career as a lawyer for a variety of organisations across legal and regulatory, compliance and ethics, corporate governance, data protection, intellectual property, and commercial contracting.

Professor Joyce O’Connor will moderate the event. A global Eisenhower Fellow Professor, O’Connor is the Founding President of the National College of Ireland ( NCI ), recognised as a leading academic and researcher who has championed access to education.

Recognising the importance of early learning she established the Early Learning Initiative in NCI 2005.

A Chair and Board member of a wide range of organisations, businesses and Government agencies, she Chaired “A Vision for Change “ which helped redefine Government Policy in the Mental Health area.
