The Professional Certificate in Consumer Credit is a Level 7 one module programme offered by IOB. Successful completion of the programme fulfils the educational requirements of the Central Bank’s Minimum Competency Code relating to the designation of APA in Consumer Credit and Associated Insurances.

We invite you to join Caitriona McCarthy, Programme Director and Jim O’ Brien, Module Co-Ordinator who will speak about the programme and Jim will also give a taster lecture covering some content from the programme.

He will outline the different types of security that may be asked for from an applicant applying for any type of consumer credit – and comparing how these differ between the different credit products – Loans, Hire-Purchase etc. He will also briefly consider the elements that underwriters seek when considering any application for personal credit.

There is 0.5 CPD hours availale for the following designations:

  • QFA- Consumer Credit

  • APA- Consumer Credit

  • Registered Stockbroking- Consumer Credit

  • LCI

  • FCI- Compliance

MCC Expert

Jim O'Brien is a Finance professional with more than 40 years experience gained in the Irish banking and financial services industry. Primary experience has been gained in the Credit departments of four of the pillar banks. Jim has a keen interest in continuing professional development and lifelong learning.
