IOB is delighted to welcome Dr. Paul Egan, Senior Research Officer in the Economic Analysis Division of the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) for this housing update. Dr Egan will explore the latest findings from the ESRI’s research publication “Measuring Risk and Vulnerability in the Irish Residential Property Market.”

Dr. Paul Egan is a Senior Research Officer in the Economic Analysis Division of the ESRI. Paul joined the ESRI in September 2021. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Macro-Financial Risk Specialist at AIB as well as an Associate Lecturer in Economics and Finance at the University of St Andrews, where he was also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Dynamic Macroeconomic Analysis (CDMA).
Paul’s main research interests are in the areas of applied econometrics and macroeconomic modelling. He works on the ESRI’s COSMO model and has been involved in research projects on topics such as the impact of deglobalisation and protectionism on the Irish economy. He also works on a number of housing related research projects and is responsible for the ESRI’s nowcast of modified domestic demand (MDD).
