This event was originally scheduled as part of our May Bootcamp and has been rescheduled to a new date.
This bootcamp is designed to give you the clarity, confidence, and practical guidance needed to take control of your pension at this pivotal stage of your career. Whether you're progressing into leadership, balancing financial commitments, or reassessing long‑term goals, this session will equip you with the insights you need to stay on track.
Our speaker, Karena Duane, will walk attendees through five key considerations:
1. Why Should You Care About Pensions at the Mid‑Point of Your Career?
Karena will highlight why your mid-career years are often the most impactful time to shape your retirement outcome. She’ll explore the power of compound interest, the benefits of earlier action, and challenge the perception that pensions only become relevant later in life.
2. How Much Should I Have Saved by Now?
Attendees will receive practical guidance on contribution expectations, how to optimise employer pension schemes, and what steps you can take if you feel behind. Karena will emphasise why it's never too late to build stronger financial foundations for the future.
3. What Happens If I Have Changed Jobs Along the Way?
Karena will explain the implications of job changes, including pension portability, preservation options, and consolidation. She’ll provide clear advice to help you make informed decisions when managing multiple pension pots.
4. Understanding Pension Investment Choices
We’ll explore how pension funds are invested, what different risk profiles mean in mid‑career, and how sustainable or ethical investing can align with your values. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of the investment choices available within their scheme.
5. Common Pension Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them
Karena will review frequent mistakes such as opting out, overlooking employer contributions, misinterpreting auto‑enrolment, and neglecting regular statement reviews.
Attendees will leave with practical actions to strengthen their long‑term position.
This event will automatically close midnight the day before or if its fully booked.
