Following a comprehensive review of the Consumer Protection Code, the Central Bank of Ireland has published a Revised Consumer Protection Code. IOB is delighted to welcome Deirdre Mullally and Carol Jordan from the Central Bank of Ireland for an overview of the revised Code.
The revised Code will take effect on 24 March 2026 following a 12-month implementation period.

Deirdre Mullally is a Senior Manager within the Cross-Sectoral Policy and Research Division in the Central Bank of Ireland.
She has over 25 years’ experience in financial services, predominantly across the retail banking and insurance sectors. Prior to working on the Consumer Protection Code Review, she worked in the Insurance Policy area of the Central Bank, leading on the implementation of European and domestic regulatory initiatives.
She has a BA in Modern Languages from TCD.
Carol Jordan is a Policy Manager in the Policy & International Directorate at the Central Bank of Ireland. Carol holds a BA (Hons) in Law, as well as qualifications in Finance, and Central Banking and Financial Regulation.
She has more than 25 years of regulatory experience, having spent 13 years with the Pensions Authority, and a further 15 years at the Central Bank in roles within Enforcement and Consumer Policy and Research. Carol is currently working on the project to review the Consumer Protection Code.
