Join us for a programme taster for the new Professional Certificate in Data Protection Essentials for Financial Services.
Financial services companies often handle sensitive customer information, making them subject to strict data protection regulations. Upskilling employees in data protection regulation is essential for financial services companies to comply with regulations, protect customer data, mitigate risks, and maintain trust and credibility in the market.
This new level 7 programme is designed to upskill financial services professionals and provide greater working knowledge of Data Protection, by providing insight into how to interpret requirements, along with practical steps that can be adopted to bring theory into practice.
Join associate faculty, Owen Vahey, as he sets the scene for the programme, and takes us through a sample of what's offered.
Owen currently serves as Deputy Global Privacy Assurance Director and Data Protection Officer, Ireland for Aon, focusing on designing and implementing privacy compliance framework globally across 120 jurisdictions.
Prior to joining Aon, Owen has held various roles in the financial services sector in Ireland, with a focus on regulatory compliance and data protection.
Owen is a graduate of the University of Dublin, Trinity College and holds the Professional Certificate in Data Protection (CDPO) from the Institute of Banking and University College Dublin and is the current Chair of the Data Protection & Information Security Working Group of the Compliance Institute.
