Margaret Darcy

Margaret D’Arcy FCA Dip IFRS BAAF, Programme Director

Margaret D’Arcy is the Programme Director at IOB for Funds and Wealth Planning. Margaret joined IOB in August 2019 after spending more than twenty years lecturing on both professional and university accounting programmes. Margaret’s career started in retail banking and took her through a variety of roles, including Audit, Project Management and finally Head of Operations Treasury and International.


William Lawless

William Lawless, Programme Manager

William Lawless is the Programme Manager with IOB. As programme manager, William is the main point of contact with students and looks after the collation of course content, representation at programme board meetings and client relationship management. He also lectures on the Professional Certificate in International Investment Funds programme on the Fund Accounting and Valuation module. Prior to joining the IOB, William worked in the Funds industry with State Street working in a variety of client facing roles, EMEA Agile Manager and Learning and Development.


Aoife Rooney

Aoife Rooney, Programme Director

Aoife Rooney joined the Institute as a senior programme manager in 2007, and was Head of Professional Programmes from 2009 to 2015. More recently she worked as a Programme Director from 2015. Prior to joining the Institute Aoife worked for BNY Mellon for ten years in various operations and client servicing roles.


Martina Kelly

Martina Kelly, Director of Funds

Martina joined the IOB in January 2020. Prior to that she was Head of Markets Policy Division within the Central Bank of Ireland with responsibility for the formulation of policy in relation to investment funds, investment firms, markets and market infrastructure. Martina has considerable experience in investment funds policy and regulation having led the Central Bank’s work in this area for many years. In that capacity she was directly involved with the development of the Irish regulatory regime applicable to funds and fund service providers.
