Legacy systems, processes, and crucially, thought leadership have significant impact on the success of transformation initiatives.
Client and customers’ expectations and business efficiencies are the two big drivers that are dominating the digital transformation agenda. This programme is designed to give you the skills to succeed in the opportunistic environment that digital transformation presents, by enabling you to create a strategic transformation approach and to build a dynamic and agile culture in your team, unit or enterprise.

Who is it for?
This programme is relevant to all areas of the financial services sector, in particular international financial services, fund management and all areas of banking. Learners will be at managerial and leadership level or aspiring to a leadership role.

On completing this, graduates will be expected to be able to;
Explain the theory and practice underpinning Digital Transformation and the reasons why digital technology is changing business strategy
Outline how the application of advanced analytics and cognitive technologies can drive operating efficiencies and enhance an organisation’s value proposition
Design a strategy for a radical simplification programme in a financial services organisation
Ascertain and evaluate the strategic challenges and opportunities of Digital Transformation for financial services organisations (traditional and FinTechs)
Communicate the current financial services ecosystem, to specialist and non-specialists, along with illustrating how emerging technologies impact financial services organisations
Critically reflect on their professional role and contribution to financial organisations in the context of Digital Transformation (DT) in financial services (and related sectors).
If you hold an IOB designation or a designation managed by IOB, CPD hours may be awarded on successful completion of this programme.
When you successfully complete this programme you will be awarded a Professional Diploma in Digital Transformation in Financial Services from UCD.
This is a level 9 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Autumn Trimester (2023/2024 academic year)
This programme is included in the Pathway to the MSc in Financial Services
Students seeking admission to the MSc Pathway or its constituent programmes must possess:
An Honours degree (min H2.2, Level 8 NFQ) in business or a related discipline
or
An Honours degree (H2.2, Level 8 NFQ) in a non relevant business discipline and 3 years' relevant work experience
or
Admission many also be considered for experienced professionals who do not meet the admission requirements as set out above, where they can demonstrate knowledge through their work
You must be a current member of IOB, or become a member, to undertake this programme.
Springboard+ courses are designed to help you gain the skills necessary to either obtain employment in industry areas where there is an increasing need or to upskill in your current job.
To be considered eligible for a place on a Springboard+ course, you will need to:
be living full-time in the Republic of Ireland
have your own, valid PPS Number
meet the nationality/visa requirement
You are an EU/EEA/UK/Swiss national or: You have Stamp 4/Stamp 4 EU FAM, Stamp 5, or Stamp 6 on your Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card. This includes those resident here on Stamp 4 on the basis of: having permission to remain in Ireland as a family member of an EU citizen or; having official Refugee/Subsidiary Protection status in Ireland /being here on the basis of refugee family reunification or; having been granted Humanitarian Leave to Remain in the State (prior to the Immigration Act 1999) or; having permission to remain following the Minister’s decision not to make a deportation order.
have lived in either the EU, the EEA, the UK, Switzerland for at least 3 out of the last 5 years
If you are a Stamp 4/Stamp 4 EU FAM, Stamp 5, or Stamp 6 holder, residency is calculated from the date you first received this stamp. Any residency before this time cannot be counted. If you have Refugee/Subsidiary Protection status in Ireland, residency is counted from the date you applied for International Protection.
When applying for a course through Springboard+ you will also need to apply on the basis of either being:
Employed
working either for yourself or someone else.
Unemployed
not currently working, receiving a qualifying welfare payment from the Department of Social Protection (unless you are formerly self-employed) and actively seeking employment.
A Returner
a Homemaker, on other caring duties, or economically dependent on a partner/spouse for at least 9 of the last 12 months.
A Recent Graduate
a graduate from a full-time NFQ Level 8 degree within the 12 months prior to the start of a Springboard+ course and who does not fit into one of the above categories.
Your eligibility is assessed based on your status on the date your course first starts. You will need to meet the eligibility criteria on that date. Documentary evidence of this will be requested during the course before a fee payment is made on your behalf.
