30% Club Executive Education Scholarships Announced

Two scholarships available for IOB programmes

The 30% Club Ireland has launched its 2022 Executive Education scholarship programme. IOB is proud to be involved with the 30% Club, working to enable women leaders. This year, two scholarships are available to women working in financial services for the following IOB programmes:

To date, the 30% Club Executive Education programme has provided over 100 professional women with scholarships to pursue executive education in their chosen field.

Gillian Harford, Country Executive at 30% Club Ireland, believes executive education is critical for progression to very senior roles in organisations. “Yet while women make up more than 50% of undergraduates in Ireland, the numbers drop significantly at post graduate levels. This impacts on the CVs for potential senior female executives but it also impacts on the make-up of executive education classrooms.”

The scholarship programme aims to support women in to executive education who may not have the resources otherwise and to improve the gender balance in executive education classrooms for better learning outcomes. “Both ultimately support the long-term talent pipeline” Harford said.

“We are particularly pleased to partner with IOB who are supporters of the 30% Club in their own right, and who are key to professional development across the Financial Services sector, which represents a strong segment in our wider supporter group.”

“Diversity on Fund Boards is important and to achieve this there needs to be a pipeline of female professionals, with the appropriate skill set, ready for consideration when positions become available. Having obtained the CIFD designation has put me in a position to be considered, and I would not have achieved this without the support of the 30% Club Scholarship.”
